OMG Burger & Brew Opens in Long Valley

OMG Burger & Brew is the newest mountaintop destination for foodies and beer connoisseurs alike. From the owners of the Long Valley Pub & Brewery, OMG Burger & Brew features both national and local taps, including taps from its very own brewery, premium burgers, vegetarian options, adult ice cream shakes and more. The new restaurant includes outdoor seating with firepits, live entertainment on select nights and a takeout window for meals on the go. The restaurant opened yesterday, November 13, 2018.

Located on Schooley’s Mountain, a historic mountain ridge that overlooks the beautiful town of Long Valley, locals know the area for its long winding roads, familiar buildings and wooded landscape. OMG Burger & Brew brings the mountain a restaurant and an experience fused into one. The custom-designed building features a high timber ceiling and vintage panel fans, concrete flooring and six-foot custom Sputnik chandeliers that bring everything full circle for a modern touch. The atmosphere sets the scene for family fun, romantic evenings and relaxation.

“As much as we love Schooley Mountain, we felt it could use something new,” said owner Andrea Maletta-Bussel. “We see OMG Burger & Brew as the ultimate farm-to-mountain destination, whether it be catching up with friends over a beer at our outdoor firepits or grabbing a quick bite to eat for the family. OMG is whatever you want it to be. But one thing’s for sure: we know you will absolutely love our burgers and brews!”

Conveniently located across the street from Rock Spring Park, the OMG Burger & Brew takeout window is the solution for a fast and delicious meal. Customers can use the online ordering app instead of calling the restaurant and everything will be ready upon arrival.

OMG Burger & Brew is also available as an event space for a surprise birthday party, kid parties, corporate event, bridal shower and more. The room upstairs hosts up to 40 people for private parties and events that can include a custom menu tailored for guests.

OMG Burger & Brew is located at 141 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Long Valley, NJ and is open 7 days a week. Visit OMGBurgerandBrew.com to find out more.

Exclusive Cellar Dinners at Crystal Springs During Latour Renovations

Exclusive Cellar Dinners at Crystal Springs During Latour Renovations

Some very exciting news out of Crystal Springs Resort.

Renovations at Latour

Restaurant Latour at Crystal Springs Resort (https://www.crystalgolfresort.com/dine/latour) will be undergoing a complete renovation this fall. The restaurant will serve its last dinner in the current configuration on October 21, close the upstairs space for construction, and then reopen to the public in December.

The renovations and changes will be substantial – they will be reinventing the entire guest experience and space. The aesthetic will be modern but still pay homage to Restaurant Latour’s roots as a showcase for seasonal, local ingredient focused cooking that relies on foraging as much as it does on area farms. The well-known NYC firm INC Architecture & Design, which has done projects like the trendy 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Park and the hip LINE hotel in D.C., as well as commercial and residential spaces in the city and abroad, has been engaged for the project, the first NJ hospitality initiative for this highly regarded company.

Exclusive Latour Dinners in the Wine Cellar

During the renovations, diners will have the unique opportunity to experience Restaurant Latour’s menu for six weeks in the Wine Cellar starting October 25!

This will be a very special experience as guests will have the rare opportunity to enjoy a four-course dinner menu while dining in Crystal Springs’ award-winning cellar – and all that comes with that – without having to book a private event at the cellar.

Wine Cellar by Crystal Springs Resort

The format will be a bit different than traditional dinner service. Guests will arrive at 6:30pm for a tour of the Wine Cellar and a welcome glass of bubbly (complimentary); they will then be seated at 7pm for dinner service, which will include a four-course prix fixe menu, special wine pairings and Latour’s fantastic wine list. This special dining experience in the Wine Cellar will available Thursday – Sunday from October 25 until December 2nd.

The four-course menu with multiple options for course is $115 – here’s a sample menu.

In addition, each week in November, a different winery will be highlighted for the featured wine pairing ($55);

  • November 1 – 4 wines from Husic Vineyards in Napa Valley, CA. On Nov. 3, Frank and Julie Husic will be in attendance for a special dinner.
  • November 8 – 11 highlighting New Jersey’s own Alba Vineyard.
  • November 15 – 18 the famed Napa Valley producer Far Niente.
  • November 22 – 25 the legendary Chateau de Beaucastel from the Rhone Valley in France.
  • November 29 – December 2 the award-winning New Jersey winery Unionville Vineyards.

When it reopens in December, Restaurant Latour will be completely reimagined, from the room’s aesthetics to the configuration of the floor itself. The inspiration for the new design by INC Architecture & Design is the surrounding Sussex County landscape and its flora and fauna. The dining room will be paneled in conifer bark and the design features white oak, grey granite, moss green mohair and natural linen. The goal is to make fine dining warm, convivial and more connected to the natural agrarian landscape of the area.

Cheers,

Veronique

The Time Chef Bryan Gregg Cooked at My Home

The Time Chef Bryan Gregg Cooked at My Home

Last Saturday night, I hosted a dinner party for some friends in my wine group and a couple other wine afficionados to celebrate my guy’s 50th birthday. It was all due to be informal under a ‘surf & turf’ theme with the birthday boy manning the grill. Then, something neat happened and award-winning Chef Bryan Gregg agreed to come to my home to cook for the group! My guests were very familiar with Chef Gregg as we were all avid fans of his former restaurant, Escape, in Montclair, NJ.

Chef Bryan Gregg

I let Chef know what my guy likes, foodwise, and he crafted the most decadent, delicious menu based on the finest ingredients he could source or forage himself. Here was the menu:

First Course

Japanese Wagyu Beef, Osetra, Pommes Rosti

Second Course

Lobster, Late Season Tomatoes, Avocado

Third Course

Whole Roasted Foie Gras, Black Fig Jam, Sourdough

Fourth Course

Dry Aged Ribeye, Farmers Market Vegetable, Bone Marrow Butter

Dessert Course

Valley Shepherd Cheeses

Key Lime Tart (by me, because it’s the birthday boy’s favorite)

The dinner was outstanding and the wines poured were amazing. Some Chefs, even with a resume like Chef Gregg’s, will occasionally agree to cook for private parties, so don’t hesitate to ask your favorite cook!

Cheers,

Veronique
