A friend from Pennsylvania brought this to dinner one night and I served it with a salted caramel dessert, which was an okay pairing but would have been better with a dessert not so sweet.
This ice cider is produced from a blend of apples grown and pressed by Solebury Orchard. The juice is then cryo-concentrated and fermented by Stone & Key Cellars.
It’s golden in the glass with an unmistakable ripe apple aroma. It’s definitely sweet, but not cloyingly so with fresh flavors and some acidity on the finish.
Pairings: Foie gras, blue cheese, desserts that aren’t overly sweet – stone fruit tarts, roasted figs.
Style: Dessert Wine
Grape Type(s): Apple
Region: Montgomeryville, PA, USA
Price: $27.95 (375 ml bottle)
